The five-star Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague and four-star hotel Mamaison Residence Downtown Prague from the portfolio of CPI Hotels, the biggest hotel group in the Czech Republic, won awards at the 23rd anniversary of the European World Travel Awards (WTA), which in September announced the winner with the best results in the area of tourism on the European continent in 2016.

The luxury Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague, which is located in the Prague City Centre at Staroměstské náměstí, dominated the Czech Republic's Leading Boutique Hotel 2016 category. The hotel has in the past also been nominated within the framework of the WTA in the category of Leading New Hotel 2010 and 2011 or Leading Hotel in the Czech Republic 2014 and 2015. The Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague was opened in 2009 as the first of the newly emerging Buddha-Bar Hotels & Resorts chain inspired by the legendary Buddha-Bar brand. The boutique hotel concept, which offers accommodation in 35 rooms and 3 suites bets mainly on the unique brand design inspired by Eastern philosophy and French colonialism, personal approach and modern technology. The popular “eatmosphere” restaurant Siddharta Café and Buddha-Bar are also located in the hotel.

The Mamaison Residence Downtown Prague won the Czech Republic’s Leading Serviced Apartments 2016 award. It has already defended this prestigious award for the third time; it also won the award in 2015 and 2013. The Residence was incorporated into the CPI Hotels portfolio under the new brand of the Mamaison Hotels & Residences four-star hotels in January 2016. It was thus the ninth hotel of the Mamaison Hotels & Residences brand, which are located in Prague, Bratislava, Warsaw, Budapest and Moscow. The Residence offers accommodation in 53 suites, which are thanks to their complete equipment ideal for long-term stays, and they also offer a whole array of classic hotel services. The Residence mainly targets foreign corporate and leisure clientèle.

The World Travel Awards (WTA) were established in 1993 and since then serve to the appreciation of the best results in the tourist industry. The competition in this way makes an effort to support the competitiveness and continuous improvement of the quality of the tourism infrastructure. It is perceived as the top award that can be won in the industry, since the nominations are made by thousands of professionals in the tourist industry. During the course of year, the award winners in Africa, Central America, Indian Ocean, South America and Europe are announced separately. The awards are usually endowed upon companies in the categories of leading airline companies, destinations or hotels.
